Photoinitiator TMO (Chemical name: (2,4,6-Trimethylbenzoyl)bis(p-tolyl)phosphine oxide, CAS: 270586-78-2) is a highly efficient Type I free-radical photoinitiator.
As a high-performance acylphosphine oxide photoinitiator, TMO exhibits excellent absorption at 385–420 nm, making it ideal for UV-LED curing systems. Its key advantages include strong deep-curing capability, fast curing speed (30–50% faster than TPO), and excellent yellowing resistance. More importantly, TMO is a safer alternative to TPO—free from the phenyl-phosphorus bond that led to TPO being classified as an SVHC by the EU (reproductive toxicity). TMO offers no reproductive toxicity and low migration, making it suitable for food contact packaging, cosmetics, and medical 3D printing.
